Hey there! Thanks for posting your lovely art and accepting critiques.

Let's start with what is good about this piece: the colors, the expression, and the shading. The different tones of grey are nice and help add dimension, with the red splash helping to break the monotone. Her face is also quite interesting to look at; I love her expressive eyes - they draw me in. Lastly her face and hair are shaded well, although I do think you could take it a step further with more refined details, and darker mid tones/shadows.

So what else can be better about this piece? I like how your background fades out, but especially around the bottom right of the hair, it makes it messy and changes the tone from curious/surprised to confused/brooding (which is fine if this was your intention). Next, her tie is not very well-rendered; you're missing details and the sharp edges that would make it look more refined. My final critique is your linework - it looks great around the eyes and face, but in the hair it looks a bit weaker. I would suggest using bolder lines without feathering them out (what I mean is, make lines in one stroke, not a bunch of little ones).

So, overall, a very cute painting that could be made better with sharper details, more contrast, and a bit more refining in linework.
