Description

My Great Grandmother was a maid in Syracuse, Sicily from the age of thirteen until she was eighteen. Her and my Great Grandfather met when she was 13 and he worked tirelessly as an artist, an actor and a day laborer, to be able to afford to buy her out of her employment contract. She had every Saturday off and they would meet and he would sketch and/or paint her portrait as often as he could. When she turned 18, he bought her contact and they married.
