Saunders is a great team, but Alissa pulling that sneaky message intercepting was a stroke of luck for them at first. And the rules say, or didn't say, interception was not illegal. But Miho sending their messages by cellphone was a great counter to Alissa's sneakiness. As Kay said, "This is tankery, not war."
