HAPPY NEW YEAR!
...well to be more correct Happy New Year's Eve Eve

This drawing is rather personal to myself; it actually reflects my own new years resolution. It's about moving on; removing ourselves from the darkness that is slowly creeping in, and the blanket of comfort we have wrapped ourselves in. When we have shed our final tear we need to take that small window of opportunity while it is there and hold it firmly so that it cannot escape our grasp.

The tattoo on her shoulder reads: "I'm young, I'm strong; nothing can touch me". It is actually my favorite line from one of my favorite films 'Dark Victory' (1939) starring my favorite actress Bette Davis. It's about a young heiress who only discovers life after she finds out she is dying. It is such an amazing film. If you can get your hands on a copy I would recommend watching it.

This is the final drawing for 2009. I can't wait to get started on the new ideas I have for 2010. There is going to be a few changes...
