When I was googling for references, I couldn't choose between two poses, so I decided not to choose and draw both this one is slightly lighter... dunno if it's because of the light or because the bird was indeed lighter.... But here is another Western Jackdaw, known in our region as a Choucas (pronounce it Shoo-kaaah). It's a really cool bird that loves to nest in old buildings, ruins and cliffs.... Once it has found a mate, they stay together for life... In some regions, there is a legend that says they're the messengers of God, because they love to nest in belfries... and thus, they're the only birds that are banned from Hell I didn't know that story before doing some research about this lovely bird, but I thought it was cute and funny...
