Originates from North America.

Curent status: Least Concern.

…Their fur is less shaggy or coarse as that of brown bears.

…American Black Bear skins can be distinguished from those of Asiatic Black Bears, by the lack of a white mark on the chin, and hairier footpads.

…Despite what their name suggests, they’re known for theor color variation, ranging from white, blond, cinnamon, light brown to dark chocolate brown and jet black. It is not unusual for the cinnamon, blond or light brown individuals to be mistaken for a Grizzly.

…American Black Bears typically avoid confronting humans when possible, and wil most likely limit themselves to making mock charges, emitting blowing noises and swatting the ground with their forepaws.
