monsters hailing from the realm of nightmares. an exact copy of the realm of light, or the real world. monstrous. nigh unkillable, the only method of stopping the beasts is a silver bullet to the heart. the creatures use the darkness as a method of travel even something as simple as a shadow being cast a reliable way for the things to break into our world. their favorite methods are the darkness cast underneath beds, and the shadows of closets. usually only children can see the beasts, the creatures using this to freak out the parents. sowers of fear, and chaos. creatures of hopelessness, and destruction. the first evil. some, very select adults are capable of seeing the nightmarish creatures, becoming part of a wide and vast guild of monster hunters made specifically to stop the beasts. when the boogeymen chooses a target and begins to stalk them, it gains their abilities, strengths and powers becoming even stronger. radiating an aura of fear, the creatures can mimic and parrot the speech and tone of the voices of others.
