I get the sense from looking at this that in-universe getting the loops on the bows over their rumps to form heart shapes was completely intentional and something that involved tying or preparing the sash in a specific way to get the effect. They did it that to contribute to the looks they were going for.

I think something about the way you drew and animated this conveys a sense of in universe intentionality instead of simply that the artist took liberties in how they depicted this or that detail. I don't know what, but it's neat.
