FRONTLOAD
ALLIEGANCE: Autobot
FUNCTION: Warrior / Resource Management

BIO: If there’s one word that describes Frontload, it’s dependable. She is well known for her friendly disposition and likable personality. Never one to try and call attention to herself, things just have a habit of making her stick out from the crowd. A big example of this is how she quickly gained a reputation among her peers as maker of some of the finest energon around—not something she ever intended to be known for, but her constant tests and trials on fuel sources and energy refinement have made her the Autobot’s resident “cook” for new “flavors” of their fuel source. She doesn’t do it for any real fame though, and just seeing the spring in the step of a well energized makes her happy, and motivates her to always continue her research.

ABILITIES: In robot mode, Frontload is rather on average in all accounts. She’s reliable in a battle, doing what she can to help out. Frontload is a wiz when it comes to anything related to energy, and she has an acute ability to seemingly get more juice from energon than the components that went into it. She possesses the rare ability to produce energon cubes from her chest. In car mode, Frontload can go on or off-road with equal levels of skill, though she isn’t doesn’t reach the same top speeds as some of the more fast of her ranks.

WEAKNESSES: Frontload is a bit “by the books” and has a bit of a bad habit of being an unintentional wet blanket to the more lax Autobots she knows. Optics will turn up when Frontload starts a sentence with “But Optimus Prime said…”, though she isn’t about to micro-manage her peers. Frontload can sometimes be a little drained if she produces too many energon cubes without pacing herself. In car mode, her soft top doesn’t offer much in the way of protection.

At long last, Frontload gets her chance to shine! You might notice she looks a bit different. In truth, Frontload had to take on the brunt of being my first Transformer OC design, as such references for her were constantly competing with themselves and didn't offer many angles besides front on. Further, her bio wasn't fully fleshed out either, so this solves both those issues! I wanted to get a reference that brought our favorite yellow jeep up to the same level as her peers, and had more obvious transformation elements to it. Before, she was a bit too G1 cartoon fembot. Now she's much more a transformer you could see in your hands! Her soft-top roof kibble has been there since the earliest sketches, even if it kind of vanished for a bit, and her features are more in line with a jeep than before. She might seem a bit more blocky here, but that's also the artist style... next time you see her, I'm sure she'll have rounded out some and gotten those curves back again. Overall, I feel this finally gives me a look for her I'm satisfied with... not to mention a personality! You can finally see how she's meant to be a bit more straight laced than Rearview, but she's not a complete buzzkill. She just knows her buddy can sometimes bite off more than she can chew...
