My Photograms by Namiiru on DeviantArt (original) (raw)
This collection shows the "photograms" I produced for my final Photography exam. Photograms are photographic images created without the use of a camera. They are simply made by placing objects on top of light-sensitive materials.
I decided to attempt to create my own photograms for my last project because I wanted to explore photography beyond the use of the camera. Everyone in the class always stuck to the thought of photography being only about "cameras and Photoshop", so I was keen to try something new and "think outside of the box".
I created the photograms by placing leaves and feathers on photographic paper and then exposing to sunlight for several hours - this created something like a "silhouette" where the paper had not been exposed to the light. After removing the object from the photographic paper, I had to quickly scan the image in order to preserve it.
I find it fascinating how various pink and brown tones have been created - I certainly wasn't expecting them from black and white photographic paper!
Anyway, I hope you like my work!
