Warptide 2021: Kalypso's Pet Contest!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Warptide 2021: Kalypso's Pet Contest!This Warptide, we’re hoping to do something a little more lively and upbeat, so welcome to Wyngro’s first pet contest, hosted by Kalypso (with Russell helping out)! This is a TEAM BASED event that will combine the concept of ye old Bug Camp, with a focus on pets, with some Warptide shenanigans and celebrations! You can earn special upgrades you'll get no where else just for participating, but those who put extra effort in may get picked for even greater prizes, so let's dive in! , Registration: You'll have two weeks to register for this event, so figure out your teams quickly! That’s right: TEAMS! And depending on how your team does, you’ll get one of the following rewards below:, Contest Prizes: For the team that shows off the most skill, creativity, and teamwork, the following prizes will be rewarded! (Essentially, the art contest portion!) Grand Prize for the winning team:Each team member of the winning team will receive 1 very special baby boo from Kalypso's next litter between Ark x Chateau! ,A choice between the following upgrades: Beast Claws, Beetle Wings & (NEW) Stitcher Tail!,Participation Prizes: These prizes will be given to EVERY team that submits the required art for each week on time! Choice between Hunter Stripes, Loomee Antennae or Wicked Horns! ,Possible chances for other prizes throughout the event! Join for fun collabs with friends, cute pets, and many other fun lore related opportunities!, Rules for participating and earning rewards:In order to earn a participation prize, you will need to submit at least one Polished Piece under your account for your team. (So teammates should take turns being the one to upload each week's piece) The upgrade rewards you may win do not have to be placed on the wyngro you enter. Upgrade rewards can only be added to 1 adult wyngro you own. You will have until November 30th 11PM to apply your upgrade prize in the designated channel. Before you begin registering, here are the facts about the event to keep in mind:Rules for forming a team: Each team needs 4 members. No more, no less. Each team must have at least 1 adult. (Kalypso does not want to babysit!) Each team must register 1 pet. No more, no less. The pet needs to be owned by one of the team members. If no one on the team has any pets, you may pick from one of Kalypso's pets, listed below. If you pick one of Kalypso's pets, more than one team can claim the same pet. (Sharing is caring!)You can only join ONE team, with ONE of your wyngrew. Choose carefully!You need to decide a unique Team Name! So if another team is already signed-in with the team name “Team BANANAS!”, no other team may use that name. It’s first come first serve!If you are having trouble finding a team to join, are shy or just don't know enough people, no problem! We'll sort you into a team for you. See below:Registration ends October 3rd!Rules for joining a Random Team:You will need to fill out the registration form and turn it in before September 27th! On September 28th, the teams will be rolled and officialized so everyone has time to get to know each other before the event officially starts.When joining a randomized team, you cannot choose which pet you’ll be using for the event. It may be owned by one of your team members, or it may be one of the rent-a-pets!You cannot choose your team name on random teams: we’ll assign you one automatically when putting the team together! Some randomized teams may be larger or smaller than the standard 4 depending on how many members overall choose his option. Please be aware of this! Registration ends October 3rd!, Available Rent-a-Pets:,,, Forming a Team:This event will require you to collab with 3 other artists and their characters to create a team-building event! (Anyone remember Bug Camp?) You'll ideally want to find people that you get along with, have the same goals for the event (whether it be going for the grand prize, or just being casual), and possibly similar art skill-levels. But not to worry if you don't have people to ask, as the RNG team might be for you! (See below), Not sure how to find teammates? Let us pick for you!If you're a bit shy, or just don't know enough people, let us help sort you into a team with random friends! This is a great way to meet new people and find new potential friends! Please be aware that this may make teams that are not exactly 4 people, depending on how many we get!All forms for registration will be posted in our Discord server!Registration ends OCTOBER 3RD!, Working Together: A guide to good team building and how to avoid drama: Communication is key! Here’s some things to consider together before registering your team:Create a group chat! Make a group DM or set up your own discord server to talk together and communicate effectively!Know each person’s limits and goals. Let others know if you intend to go all out on trying to win the contest, or if you’re planning to just participate normally. Remember, not everyone may be up for going all in on it!Ask about schedules. If someone knows they won’t be available for some time between October 10th - November 14th, let the group know so everyone can work around it. It's no fun to be relying on someone for art when then they forgot to tell you they were going to be unavailable when they’re needed. Don't be a flake! We all get in over our heads and sometimes, you're not able to do what you said you would. The best thing to do in this situation is to be honest and communicate that you cannot do your part as soon as possible. Saying nothing and ignoring the problem only makes it worse! Decide if your group wants to do a lot of collabs, or dole out the prompts to a single person each week. Have a backup plan in either situation in case someone flakes out! Decide who amongst your team will be the one uploading the art each week! Remember, each team member must submit at least ONCE to earn a participation prize! Use this as an opportunity to increase your communicative and organization skills! Teamwork is important for all life situations! Likewise, remember that this is just an online drawing event, and not the meaning of life. Even if things don't work out exactly as you've planned, it's important to let them go, and take breaks if you need them. , F.A.Q. How long does this event last?This event will have 5 1-week portions, meaning it’s going to be little over a month long! (Specifically, it will run between October 10th - November 14th)Can I enter a beeb or tot as the participating pet?Nope! Only runeboos, coatala, wibbles, nocs, and oris can be used as the official team pet for the event. Staff members cannot be entered into the Grand PrizePlease keep in mind that teams with one or more staff members will NOT be put into the running for the potential Grand Prize! They’re just in it for fun (and the participation prizes! ) This is so staff can accurately and unbiasedly help grade winners, as well as offer no unfair advantage of insight information. So please be aware of this if you are deciding to team up with a member of Wyngro staff. Can I add upgrade prizes to wynglings?No. Both grand prize upgrades and participation upgrade rewards can only be applied on ADULT wyngrew, so make sure that if there's an upgrade you desperately need on a current wyngling, that you grow them up BEFORE the event ends so there's no mad rush! This event seems lighthearted, but it is still Warptide!We are continuing last year’s Search for Novo alongside this pet contest, so be aware that if darker themes are triggering for you (example: like things mentioned on our Spites page), this event may not be something you want to participate in. Wyngro is not always child friendly, as we use darker themes such as foul language, violence, and other mature themes in our world building. Please be aware of this before joining our events.
