Widowmaker by NicolasRGiacondino on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Happy Tuesday, folks!

Even though my main focus right now is working out the kicks in my linework and getting as fast as possible with my inks, I still like to dabble in color as much as I can whenever possible. Albeit more slowly due to work (which sometimes involves color too!), I want to start adding more depth and hue to my palette choices and develop my coloring ever forward.

Thus, since Widowmaker was looking at me so intently from my desk, I decided to have a full go at her to warm-up today and found the result pretty interesting. Working with pigments means I will never achieve the level of luminosity that Blizzard (or any digital artist) does with their digital work. BUT, that in itself can be an upside if taken so; my approach will thus lend a more 'gritty' and pulp-y feel to these characters which I think might stamp my particular flair over them and make my interpretations stand out between the myriad pieces dedicated to Overwatch out there. High hopes indeed!

In the end, I had fun and hope you will enjoy this one as usual! :D I'll likely tackle Tracer next and go on with a small list I made up of your suggestions for characters I should depict in this series. If there's any more favorites, don't be shy and let me know ;)

See you soon!
