This is an interesting concept for cultivating a magical cognitive matrix of a golem in a safer sized frame for the mage. Not sure how your head-canon for golems work, but some fantasy settings animate their bodies via elemental spirits that can overpower their "programming" and make them go berserk; I can almost imagine a little baby-golem having a tantrum because its animus overpowered its ego. I dunno. Sorry for the randomness.
