I made these sketches a couple of weeks ago. Meet one of my recent OCs: Lorelei

She is from the same universe as Melanie (Yes, I've decided to call her Melanie Vinter now) So in this universe, humans and non-humans (magical beings and monsters) live separately from each other. But there are some individuals who don't fit in in any of these two societies. (Mainly because their way of thinking, attitude and/or values are not typical for someone of their kind, or they have some sort physical dysfunction) Somewhere in the woods, there is a mansion for these individuals who have nowhere to go. Some live there permanently, others stay only for a while. Either way, the mansion is open to anyone.

Lorelei originates from the human world. She was a kindhearted lady from the upper middle class who always seemed to smile and laugh a lot; her joy was very contagious. And she was engaged to the man she loved.
Unfortunately, another woman was jealous of Lorelei; this woman happened to be in love with the same man. One day, she reached out to a witch and requested her to cast a curse on Lorelei. In exchange, the witch would have the soul of Lorelei in possession once the curse was complete. The curse she cast made it impossible for Lorelei to smile or laugh; if she tried, it only resulted in her face cracking up and leaving permanent damage. She always had a slightly crooked smile, so thus the cracks are on only one side. Her appearance repelled her fiance, and eventually he married the woman who sought the witch instead. People also began to believe that Lorelei was a bringer of bad fortune, so most of them avoided her.
Lorelei managed to control her expression fairly fast, for once her face is completely cracked, she would die.
Being unwanted in her home town, she decided to leave. Later she meets the owner of the mansion, who kindly takes her in. There is currently no cure for her curse, but she hopes to come across it one day.

Lorelei can seem emotionless at first sight. Despite her features, she is still a positive and enthusiastic woman. Her way of talking is very different from her expression and often takes people by surprise because of it. She seldom forms any kind of expression on her face, though it is only the smiles she has to avoid. It's probably a habit. She uses her hair to partly cover her injuries, but is not very concerned about it at home.
