Description

This roundel design is for a hypothetical air force for the Empire of Brazil.

The Empire of Brazil (sometimes called the Second Empire of Brazil, the first being the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algraves) was the longest lived independent monarchy in Latin America, and the second longest lived in the Western Hemisphere (only Canada has surpassed it in longevity as of this writing). It was largely considered a Great Power like that of America in the West, formed in 1822 when it declared itself independent from Portugal, and lasting until the abdication of Pedro II and the formation of the Republic of the United States of Brazil in 1889.
