This artwork is referenced from a photo of the stunning Brooke Blurton and uploaded with her permission! (Thanks heaps Brooke!) 
So this one started as a practice speed portrait with the goal of improving my ‘expressive’ painting. I quite liked the 2 hour version and decided to go all out with the detailing, which ended up taking about 12 hours.. also it didn’t really end up all that expressive.. :/
I did try and make it look a bit more ‘painterly’ than some of my other works though and I’m pretty happy with the finished result 
For anyone interested I uploaded a kind of step by step progress just for fun..
