Dr. Karen was enjoying her recent return to the ring. Even though it was now, more or less, a hobby she’d found she’d missed and liked the competitive edge the matches at the gym had. Not too rough, but certainly very, very spirited with a lot of girls willing to go 100 percent to secure wins.

Sort of in her wheelhouse.

She was finding her way around the ring better with each match and her performance in the tournament showed she wasn’t that far off from the top girls at the gym. With some work she’d be a threat to all of them and she loved the thought of it.

Brooke on the other hand was not thrilled with her performance and wanted to make amends. The problem she was having was her measuring stick. She felt she had won enough of the WGWC round robins that she was the best wrestler in the neighborhood. The others would likely argue the same but the bottom line was the second they all ventured outside that comfort zone they all got smacked down hard. They didn’t like that and wanted to prove themselves. The only way to do that was to get back out there.

The two were each in their own way very happy with their opening draw. Brooke felt Karen was a very good match for her and would test her. Karen was happy with one of the girls outside the gym. A solid chance to start out the league with a W if she wrestled to her capabilities.

The match itself played out as one might expect. Karen’s far superior ring experience and knowledge dominated the action keeping Brooke on her heels with moves designed to keep the younger girl on the mat. An early snap mare gave Karen the advantage which she followed with a tight chinlock. When Karen grew tired of that, then she brought her up only to headlock then hiptoss her back to the mat maintaining the headlock.

Brooke found some offense reversing the headlock into a headscissor as Karen fought her way out quickly and diving on Brooke again to seize a grappling advantage.
