_I watched a lot of anime this past year, in 2014! When I take a look back, they kind of run together in my head. I think it went something like this..._The time has come for the third installment of my annual Anime Retrospective! I'm wrapping up this year with this art tribute to the following series:

The World is Still Beautiful
Captain Earth
Rage of Bahamut: Genesis
The Irregular at Magic High School
Space Dandy

Like last year's retrospective, there was never a doubt that the overall theme would be one specific show: Space Dandy. I came up naturally with the classic space bounty hunter poses of the rascally Aloha Oe crew prepared to face off against all manner of strange alien threats - as characterized by the other anime in the list. Turning Captain Earth's Earth Engine into Admiral Perry was a last-minute decision. Originally, Earth Engine was there in all his glory, but I drew him last out of the other characters and ended up not integrating or sizing him well into the grouping. It was a terrible mess, but thanks to my Wacom tablet I re-did his entire portion in post. Thank goodness for technology!
