Gee, I wonder how this happened? Well, during a fight between the Autobots and Decepticons, Optimus Prime wounded and defeated Megatron in battle before an earthquake happened which caused Megatron and the Autobot Arcee to lose balance and fall off near the abyss. Optimus was quick to grab Arcee by her wrist as Megatron quickly held onto the edge of a cliff at the chasm. Then Megatron ordered Starscream to help him up and transport him back to the Nemesis to repair his wounded side, but Starscream being the traitor and usurper that he is pulled the "Long live the King" card before he kicked Megs in the face and caused him to fall into the abyss and Megatron was screaming Starscream's name while falling down into the pit. I know he can fly, Megatron was just so wounded he couldn't transform into a jet and fly. As for Arcee, well Optimus Prime tried to save her, but he lost his grip due to the vibration of the earthquake and Arcee fell down into the bottomless pit along with Megatron.

When Arcee woke up at the bottom of the pit hours later, she found Megatron wounded. Although she could just kill him off, she couldn't find it in herself to destroy the wounded warlord. So she decided to bring Megatron out of the bottomless pit as her prisoner. While trying to find their way out, Arcee made campfire as she and Megatron sat down and the warlord was still holding onto his wounds to prevent his Energon from leaking. Even though Megatron and Arcee were enemies, they agreed to team up in getting out of the bottomless pit if it means Megatron would get back at Starscream to reclaim his place as Leader of the Decepticons or Arcee would have him be brought to justice for his war crimes. This short Transformers: Prime fanfic that I'm working on is NOT a Megatron x Arcee shipping story. It's just basically a story about two foes becoming unlikely allies who work together in getting back from the bottomless pit while also learning that anger and revenge won't solve their problems. In this fanfic, Arcee learns the important lesson to not be consumed by wanting her revenge on Airachnid and Starscream for killing her partners, Tailgate and Cliffjumper while Megatron slowly finds his 'humanity' and learns that not all Autobots are evil.
