As the Rainbow Goes On by Pandamunk on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

..So does Friday's age.

*no more title thinking at 3am*

--------

Age 5: "Dad, didja see that?"
-Seriously, this is the most widest smile I have ever drawn him with. He's very happy here considering he hangs out with his dad a lot, gets to travel to different cities thanks to his job, and pretty much doesn't have a care in the world. He also sees a lot more colors than most people do but he doesn't care, they're just pretty and everything is wonderful. He doesn't end up needing glasses until he's around 7--but other than that everything's sunshine and rainbows.

Age 10: "...."
-And now for the complete 180 change~ By now he's experienced his first run in with a monster, specifically speaking a flock of Stymphalian birds. His dad managed to run them off by being the distraction but he didn't come back. Here, Friday's not the happiest camper in the world right now, just barely trying to get used to the transition of being in an orphanage in the Great Outback. He has become a bit more aware of the monsters since that incident, but he chooses to ignore them, thinking if they're popping up his dad will come back to pick him up soon. He doesn't talk much to the other kids, preferring to be off on his own a lot, but there are a few that wouldn't leave him alone.

Age 15: "You goin' to tha beach later on?"
-At this point, Friday has gotten used to his new home, even though he's still with the orphanage system since foster care tends to have him jumping a lot from place to place. He doesn't mind it a bit, glad to make some friends even though he's quick to cut ties from them if things had gone wrong. He's picked up a few things here and there, dabbling into photography as a hobby and getting into the sport of surfing. Also, as a homage to a friend he had made back in the orphanage, he's started a small braid in his hair. She was the only one he had gotten really close to, but ended up being adopted out of the system a year prior. It should be noted that until he was 15, he was a tiny bugger, just barely 5'2". After that, he shot up like a beanpole in the years to follow. He also ditched the glasses after middle school, opting for contacts to not look as much as a nerd. He's also picked up on the accent, and it's stuck since he was 10.

Age 20: "Don't look at me, I was just standin' 'ere."
-He's been in camp for at least 2 years now, already having to face another reality change with the news of being a demigod, some explanation and confirmation of what he had seen since he was little, and it slowly growing to accept it. In some ways he chooses to be oblivious to it or not dwell on the matter, finding it better to focus without the stress. However he has grown to finally understand and care...even if he doesn't show it a lot.

Age 25 "Heh-heh-heh. Isn't that cute."
-And finally he's grown up a long way since he was small, or better yet the past 10 years. He's gotten mature in some ways, and went from camp to go back to finish college, gaining his degree in photography. He does the same as his dad did, traveling to different cities and taking pictures for catalouges, and doing whatever he wants in the meantime...and he's pretty happy. He wears his glasses again now, but does switch to contacts out of habit and depending on what he's doing. As for the braid he finally cut it off a few years back.

All that stuff I put you through, Friday, I'm surprised you haven't tried to kill me in my sleep yet. :iconmingplz:

And I have this head-canon that even with his eyes changing color, there's a set scheme whenever he's feeling a strong mood. See if you can point them out.

probably not.
