Domestic life with a birdmonster by Paperiapina on DeviantArt (original) (raw)
Whoooooo boy! Seems like I'm using this art challenge group business as a way to break out of my comfort zone, because it seems like I've been murdering mine lately. Digital art has never been my forte, though I think I'm starting to get better at it. So hey, while we're at it, why not run so far away from the comfort zone that it breaks the sound barrier! Let's do architecture and interior design, in perspective!
So here, Hulga and Tekla's house from the inside! I have come to the conclusion that the house is build on a hill, and has a lopsided ceiling, and that’s why it’s eastern end (Tekla’s side) looks so much roomier. Totally. I know the group has a “ Viking/Celtic/Medieval type of setting” mostly as a suggestion that you don’t have to stick to than strict rule, but personally I really fancy that, so I built their house accordingly. Some inspiration from this replica stone age village I visited with my roadtrip comic school friend gang over a year ago.(I originally wasn’t going to draw Murderburd itself here, but MY GOODNESS If I’m going to sink this much effort into this thing, I’m so going to milk it out of any and all the points I can! Also I'm counting this as a biorhythm bonus too, there's daylight outside those windows.)
