John Davis and Chin Peng, two friends who were wartime allies, and later on, on opposite sides of the war.

Random talking:
I love their friendship dynamic. See, they were one of the representatives from their sides to negotiate an alliance to fight off a common enemy - Japanese. So John Davis was from British Special Operations Executive (SOE)'s Force 136, Chin Peng led the Malayan People's Anti-Japanese Army (MPAJA), formed by the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM).

British knew their alliance was temporary, since it was only a matter of time the Communists turned against them (as the Commies were anti-Imperialist). But despite that, Chin Peng and John Davis were still good friends, respectful of the other, even if not agreeing ideologically. They continued to contact each other after the war was over.
