The I-16 class of armored vehicles were designed to carry a squad of 12 soldiers into battle and be capable of providing fire support and suppression to those troops. Like the 'Peregrine' Tank Hunter, the Clydesdale can be controlled remotely or a driver, gunner and crew chief/commander. The I-16D variation (Shown above) was armed with a 105mm smoothbore cannon in an unmanned turret, supported by a 50cal. machine gun on an exterior platform, that was controlled by the commander. The large turret and loading mechanism took up much of the space for soldiers inside, leaving only four seats. Because of this, the I-16D was mainly used in the 'Hunter' role, flanking hostile armored units and putting in long range fire support from hidden locations. Other variations of the Clydesdale included:
- I-16A - Unarmed variation, mainly used for logistics and armored transports for high value personnel
- I-16B - Armed with a single 20mm autocannon in an unmanned turret, the low volume of the weapon system meant no crew space was removed
- I-16C - This version had a twin rocket pod launch system on a raised turret for firing clearance of the hull and ground. It held 8 Mk2 Hurricane missiles in it's firing tubes and most of the crew space was taken up by extra ammo. Used in the Hunter role and for anti-aircraft operations
