Where? by Polyhexian on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

I think I brought this up, what, a year ago?
Anyway I dug into it, and got some info and stuff, blahblahblah.
Okay, uh, so, when I was little , my first game was Gold. Brand new, still in the package. I thought this was the only copy of Gold I ever owned, until my mother informed me that when I was seven my cousin stole my original copy and I bought a used copy from like....EB games, I think, back when it was still a thing. So I remember the first time I beat Red, I was all excited because, as a humongously derpy little kid, I remembered speaking to Red's mother in Pallet and her saying she was worried about him. To me, this meant, fly to Pallet, tell Red's mother her kid is just chillin on a mountain. Derp.
I'd like to note I hadn't actually played Red or Blue at this time, and I hadn't actually beaten Yellow, so I really didn't know SHIT about Kanto.
But when I went outside Red's house, there was this dude standing out there. I didn't really realize who it was or even think I had ever encountered him before (gym leaders didn't really stick in my mind) but when I talked to him, he asked me something about RED, I think about his location.. Having just beat Red, this was very interesting to me. It ended up triggering a battle with him. Can't really remember levels or pokemon or anything, I typically assume it was probably his gym set since I trounced him (I still had the team I beat Red with) and when it cut back to overworld, he said his name was Blue, and then the little pidgey flying animation (that he has on Cinnabar) played, and the credits rolled. That is what I most specifically remember, because I was so, so excited about it. I was completely and utterly convinced that in Gold version, you fought Red on Mt. Silver and Blue in Pallet, and in Silver version it must be switched. Only makes sense. And that there was a character named Yellow somewhere that would compete this primary colour trio (though of course I never found him).
So I mean, it could easily be a memory glitch or something, because I really don't remember it all to well- but I have this really, really strong memory of being excited over beating Blue in Pallet and getting the credits to roll again. It was a huge accomplishment to me, and it never ever ever occurred to me that there was something wrong with that. It never even crossed my mind that was abnormal, because, it seemed like a normal enough this to happen in game, and when I played Gold I didn't look stuff up on the internet, or read guides, or even have any friends with the same game.
So like last year when I was really interested in this creepypasta biz, I was talking to a friend about it really good set ups for creepypasta people should have used instead of lame ones that they were using, and I brought up the pallet battle with Blue, and the person I was talking to had no idea what I was talking about. So I mean, I went and looked up game guides and walkthroughs and googled and googled and finally realized, I remembered it, but it never happened. :/
Basically all I'm saying is, I have no idea what's going on there, but if anybody knows anything about that let me know. Dunno if it was some sort of pointless hacked cartridge or a glitch or even what.

tl;dr remembering part of Pokemon Gold that never actually happened, if you have any info gimme gimme.
