An impressive character! He has quite a chivalric air (and hair )!
I think the sword you picked really befits him, too. I can see now my favourites would've been to clumsy; this one's more elegant, but with the ornamentation very much mirrors his status. It looks splendid, but not overdone, and thus still practical.
Great painting skills you demonstrate here, too; I love the techinique and the shading, as well as the colour scheme
