I had a go! It's not quite right but let's just call it "putting my own flair" on it.

If you're wondering about the frog he's actually a highly intelligent evolved form of amphibian from an odd planet who originally volunteered to come on board and give his science-y knowledge about newly discovered (by them anyway) solar system they were currently studying. He stuck around because he and Ren got along so well and became best friends! Now they want to figure out why the planets in this system are so much younger than ours and yet somehow so highly advanced by comparison, and what's causing the accelerated evolution.
