Whatever Happened to Saturday Night? by Prosper-the-XVIII on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

I was literally sitting planning this drawing over dinner like ten minutes after I left the theatre. Not even kidding.

It's been a long-standing part of the canon that Ramona formerly played Eddie and Dr. Scott in a Rocky Horror shadowcast in her youth, but what if it didn't stop then? Or rather, what if she picked it back up after Louis? I then got the idea in my head that Michelle would make an awesome Columbia, what with the hair thing, so ta-dah.

Ramona's outfit is largely inspired by my own interpretation of a feminised Eddie look - I had intended to wear something like this to the show, but couldn't come by a leopard-print bra in enough time. I attempted to do something pertaining to a black eye with Ramona (it is makeup, don't worry) but was a bit cack-handed and made it too purple. I do like how the rest of her came out though. But I am never, EVER drawing a fucking saxophone again. I'm also all for the notion of having a female Eddie - whenever he has been played by a woman, case in point Lea DeLaria, he's still been portrayed as male. I lik the idea of him being a chick, seeing as we know from Magenta already that Columbia is at the very least ambiguously bisexual. Ramona's invvement in the RHS thing was 200% inspired by Lea anyway, so I had to pay homage at some sage.

Michelle was a lot easier as Collie is already a girl. Her hair is very, very pink - this is just to do with the fact that I really like that particular ProMarker. I actually had to do this drawing twice as I initially made Mickey's skin waaaay too dark, and used a colourless blender instead of Ramona's skin tone, which fucked the lines up completely. Go me.

It came to me as I was drawing this that including Bernadette would be pretty snazzy, so she's Magenta in this shadowcast scenario thingy. She looks far more like Janet, but I think that she and Michelle would work well together. Plus she's quite lewd and crass, so the image of her dry-humping a couch whilst singing 'you're a hotdog, but you'd better not try to hurt her, Frank Furter' was waaaay too satisfying.

I started writing a little scenario based around this at work earlier, and may finish and post it. It's kind of fluffy, but sometimes fluffy is good.
