This is pretty basic and shitty, but I've just got an order of deeply textured French artist quality paper that's thick as cardboard and though it's lovely looking and salmon toned, I've always used the smoothest paper I can find (usually just standard photocopier paper) and haven't ever used paper with this much texture.

Ergo, getting my colour fills and shading as smooth as I like is a different proposition on this stuff which makes me think I should block colour with watercolour first, then lightly gradient over that for as more even finish 🤔

I'll figure it out 😜
