A bite of a juicy apple was certainly what the doctor ordered; or at least that is what Jessica thought when she was starving.

With two house guests, and her friend that was dead in her dorm room, today certainly had gone weird at one point. And she was hungry, and being on a limited diet didn't help when that 'snacking' urge hit. So when a couple sent her a fruit basket, it was as if she was getting a lucky break.

She was going to learn that the 'lucky break' wasn't good luck at all. For when she unwrapped it and was helping answering their questions. She had bite into the apple and felt odd. Sure it tasted great, but she couldn't really explain the feeling. One of them noticed something and shook her, causing the opposite reaction of what they told her to do. She swallowed the piece in her mouth.

She felt worse and was slipping into the realm of unconsciousness and it was fast. Only barely calling out for help before knowing no more.

For Nanashi, this was exactly what he tried to prevent. As he picked her up; he knew he was just too late. His sister had gotten the other one.
