Oh god, it's the inappropriately named black cat thing, isn't it? That was just one story and although this doesn't excuse it, pretty much every white male writer was horribly racist back then. Arthur Conan Doyle makes me cringe with his portrayal of black people. Don't pick on Lovecraft, he wasn't the only asshole writer.
