A Breath Away Is Not Far by qannekke on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Who can say for certain;
maybe you're still here?
I feel you all around me,
your memory so clear.

Deep in the stillness,
I can hear you speak.
You're still an inspiration;
can it be?
That you are my
forever love
and you are watching over me
from up above?

Fly me up
to where you are,
beyond the distant star!
I wish upon tonight
to see you smile;
If only for a while
to know you're there.
A breath away's not far
to where you are...

A bid for a breeding spot to the beautiful Moulin Rouge, owned by *Aomori. I have wanted a Moulin for a very long time, something about them just speaks to me in some way. There aren't really any words.

Please enjoy, *Aomori :heart: She is shown in full Arabian tack, complete with all tassels, gold patterning, and rope bridle. I'm not entirely sure where this took place, but I think the background looks how it was supposed to come out :love:

Method: All lineart was drawn on standard printer paper with HB pencil. All parts drawn separately, every tree, rock, piece of grass, etc. Scanned in, and pasted one by one onto the canvas, colors were filled and blocked in, and then shaded. Gaussian blur was added in GIMP, finished off with rough edged border in SAI.
Notes: Holy fuck. I have seen the abyss, it feels a lot like I'm about to have a panic attack. Just as soon as I was about to save it in GIMP, I just had to add watercolor in SAI. I saved in GIMP, and opened in SAI - my entire image was just a black and blue glitched rectangle. There was a compression error 253 while saving, which resulted in my image glitching. I panicked for about fifteen minutes, then downloaded some PSD recovery software and managed to get my merged layers image back - I couldn't get individual layers, so no changing anything, but I'm so happy I managed to get it!
I also did it in a slightly more comic book style, and I'm very happy with it. It has just the style I wanted, I honestly couldn't be much happier with this piece!
