Description

Hidden in the misty jungles of Southeast Asia, under the towering ruins of an ancient temple, a contest plays out among a group of warriors. Judged by an ancient Shih Tsu martial arts master, a nimble boar faces off against a ferocious Tasmanian Devil. Who will be the king of jungle jujitsu?

Sketched on 9”x12” Strathmore 400 Series Sketch Paper, finalized and painted in Photoshop CS 2. This one took somewhere from 4-6 days to put together. The misty low contrast landscape was driving me crazy. I had to resist adding more color depth than necessary. When I got to the foreground the richer contrast and colors created a nice pop against the mist. The Tasmanian Devil didn’t look complete until added a couple of flecks of spittle around his mouth.
