Happiest of birthdays Quay!

Ahhh thank you so much, Misty! <333

I apologize for the long comment but these things are something I observed along Shiloh‘s story. I suppose that is why this is as bittersweet as it is. I knew Shiloh’s story would end one day, I figured she would end up leaving the domain or die of old age having lived a happy and successful life and pass the torch either way.

But things happened that drastically altered course of Shiloh’s journey and Shiloh faced so many personal struggles that started to become a burden on her. I knew her ending would be bittersweet in some way, but it’s more bittersweet because of what she had to endure after the epic story of she had of growing, learning, and overcoming odds already stacked against her since the beginning.

We knew her story would end one day, I guess we hoped it was on a higher note. That said, I don’t want to mope about it. Thank for giving us this amazing hero, and at least she won’t roam the outside alone. I have to look through Heather’s journey as well. I hope we see them again some day, even if it is not in the domain. Thank you Quay, I look forward to seeing what your other character do. :3

Then in the next chapter of her life, classic to many stories of old. Shiloh loses her mentor, her grandfather Morgan. This no doubt was set up to let Shiloh grow and develop on her own without his guidance so she could develop her own wisdom.

The set up for the next part was perfect! I could see Shiloh and Alice becoming reluctant parents to the pups they adopted and both of them seeing a bit of Shiloh in some of them growing up and Alice helping Shiloh over come her inner demons during and after the hive war.

Sadly, as it seems for many stories and something that affects artists on DA. Real life happened. Alice’s player left and retired for mysterious reasons (not blaming them) without much of a word or how to reach them, thus we had to assume Alice died during the hive war. That drastically altered the course of Shiloh’s story.

With most of Shilo’s personal closest family and lover she cared about to be that emotionally supportive anchor, her anger and resentment festered as war continued. Unlike the last big bad she faced and defeated in an epic battle, the hive leader was nothing more than a withered old crone with hate towards the world and she took herself out without so much given by the pack leaders the satisfaction of taking her out themselves.

This is what she lost both Morgan and Alice too? So many others? So much more happened. Jed’s death after he was as beginning to redeem himself and other incidents that followed, it seemed Shiloh was under threat of going the villainous route e.g. Anakin Skywalker after going through their heroic journey. Again real life happened and you had to let this go to focus on other prioritie, again no fault of anyone’s own.

Quay, I just want to convey your character Shiloh had such an amazing journey because you made for her a classic and epic hero’s journey.

Born of rough beginnings starting the banishment of her mother, near abandonment after birth and having lost her siblings during the process signaled there struggles that would define her life.

Having lost her mother and forced to rely on herself with what little Shiloh was taught, which unfortunately was shaped by her mother’s tragic experience, that made her arrogant. Morgan had to fill the role of the stern mentor to give her training from hell to catch Shiloh up as quickly as possible, and further humbled by events in her story.

Shiloh found love through Alice who became an important supporting character and savior in Shiloh’s story. Shiloh overcame the big Bad in the final battle for riverfell’s future and in classic story telling fashion, just as the hero seems to be defeated and admit defeat, Alice pulls the classic assist to give her a second wind and Shiloh finally finds that inner strength she had all along to win!
