Formed from sturdy bone and raw flesh by the Elder Goddess, Cross Beasts burrow through stone and can invade even the most secure of mines. They target those who are weak and 'defective' in their eyes, that their instincts tell them are unworthy of having entered the depths of the Elder Goddess, and dispatch them with bio lances. Those who match their strength though meet a much worse fate- injected with holy chemicals that twist their bodies and minds, so they may find their way deeper, to greater purposes...
