What started out as a sketch turned into a surprisingly nice Mightyena, so I knew I had to do an Umbreon to go with it, and put some effort into a background x_o There's too much empty space on the right but it doesn't bother me enough to fiddle with the placement any more than I already have. EDIT: Yay Bee is here to fix the balance a bit :3

I really hate having to mention it every time but DO NOT REUSE THIS ART IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER! I recently came across two separate AMVs on Youtube using my Mightyena/Umbreon art, this kind of thing is not cool for two reasons:

  1. It is never appropriate to use any artist's work without express permission! I saw several claims that it's okay to do this because "artists like it when people see their stuff!" No, the majority of artists like to show people their work, not have it appear in some random Photobucket account or grainy Youtube slideshow without knowledge or consent, where their signature can't be read and the only credit to them is "Pictures by Deviantart!!"

  2. I am especially protective of my Mightyena/Umbreon art because, whenever I draw an Umbreon, I am essentially drawing myself. No, it doesn't have any unique markings or special accessories or wings or whatever the hell else, but it is a specific character nonetheless, one that is meant to represent me. Likewise, Mightyena is the symbol I most often use for my boyfriend.

This means, when I found these AMVs using my art, they essentially came across as videos shipping the two of us with extremely awful music and people commenting that the Umbreon ought to be male or Mightyena looks better with Ninetales etc etc and it was VERY CREEPY.

Along the same lines (and what caused me to look up those AMVs in the first place,) it was also recently brought to my attention that some guy had stolen the last panel of my Mightyena vs Umbreon comic and uploaded it to dA (blacking out the background because it had my signature.) The new title was "Me and girl Mightyena".. err.
