"I've seen how much he needs you, how much you need him. You're like two sides of the same coin."
Perhaps not.
Ahhh, this piece was the result of an explosion of inspiration I never thought I'd have. x'D
The two characters here come from The Adventures of Merlin, an English show that tells the tale of the Arthurian Legend. ( It has lured me in from the very first episode since I watched it last year. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in science-fiction. *__* )
This is supposed to portray one of the many possible and unpleasant reactions that Arthur could potentially have if he found out that Merlin is a sorcerer. He would bring the boy to his knees and hold a sword to his neck while so many remaining questions and beliefs in their heads tear them both apart. The slips of paper with text on them represent what is said in each of their minds, or what is supposed to be said.
But yes, it started with the sketch, and then in the midst of inking it I became frustrated with the legs. I cut out the figures in hope that I could just glue it to another piece of paper and forget about it, but... well, I was struck with inspiration. So I took out a bag of tea, a brush, some watercolors, and started washing a new piece of paper with it.
I took old homework assignments from last year's classes and tore them apart, cutting out text that I felt went perfectly with what I was trying to portray.
(If you look closely enough, you can see remnants of America's Declaration of Independence. x'D )
And then I colored the figures and glued it all together.
I feel awesome.
This is something I'm insanely proud of. I hope you all like it too.
