Object UNDB-517 is a small black tiara adorned with a single bright red jewel on its center. Depending on the source, it goes by many names such as the Demonic Tiara, the Evil Diadem, and so on. But according to most manuscripts from which it is depicted, it is often referred to as the Crown of Vengeance. Its design is lined with many pointed edges, and forged of an unknown material composition.

To understand the true nature of the crown, one must first know of its history. Over the course of the centuries, there have been many tales of the Crown of Vengeance and the legends surrounding the Hellfire Queen. While these recounts vary greatly, they all share a number of common factors. Based on this, I have put together a rough narrative surrounding it inception. As these sources are skeptical at best, do take it all with a grain of salt.

During the 15th century, a battle of epic proportions played out in England as the country was torn apart by civil war. The conflict was fought by many kingdoms, each vying for their own share of land and power. But one queen had the ruthless ambition to make herself empress over all. Her name was Queen Astara Malkyn, ruling monarch of the Iron Grove kingdom.

Queen Astara was a noble and just leader who, over the course of the years, saw her country reduced into a state of chaos by the corruption by the king, and the leaders of foreign kingdoms. It was during this period where she witness the suffering of her people under the control of those who sat at its head. Fed up with the inaction of her husband to resolve the conflict swiftly, she sought to take matters into her own hands. After usurping the throne from her husband, the queen started a war of domination to end the division that was plaguing the country once and for all. Leading her armies alongside her was Lady Cornelia Louderin, the queen’s second in command and her oldest friend. Cornelia believed in Astara's dream of setting the country straight under a single banner, and aided her in usurping the throne. Under a renewed leadership and command, the armies of the Iron Grove destroyed everything in its path. But for Queen Astara, it was not enough. She saw the other nations beneath her and would not be satisfied until she stood above the world and heaven itself.

Kingdom by Kingdom, city by city, all who resisted met a terrible fate. Eventually, the country was hers and she was master of the lives of millions. But as time went on the Queen contracted a rare illness which sapped away at her strength. Not even greatest of doctors, and the holiest of priests could heal her. In spite of all the power and authority she held, she realized that in the end that she was still mortal. Death, the final enemy, was still master over her.

It became clear that she was never going to survive. No amount of mediecine or prayers could cleanse her of the disease ravaging through her body. In desperation she made a special prayer, not addressed to God but to a demon (though some sources claim it was the devil himself), asking to spare her life. The demon, knowing her lust for power, agreed to not just heal her but grant her immortality. But in exchange, he would guide her over the empire she reigned. The queen agreed, and her tiara was transformed into Crown of Vengeance, infused by the very essence of the demon itself. When the crown was adorned, the queen felt a surge of vigor flowing through her It not only healed her, but granted her abilities beyond that of any mortal being. With this newfound powers, she would single handedly cut down her enemies without remorse. But little did she know, for every foe she slew, for every life she took, the demon’s might grew. Its influence had started to take control. With each passing day, she became less her own as the evil within her grew.

War became, conquest. Conquest became genocide. It was no longer a thirst for power that drove her, but blood, death, and destruction. Even though her generals could see the madness in her eyes, but none dared to go against the newly dubbed Hellfire Queen, for fear of fate worse than death. Cornelia however, could no longer accept such blatant orders to take innocent lives. Through her passion and courage, she convinced the queen’s generals to take her side and led a revolt against her.

A massive battle took place between the forces of the Iron Grove Resistance and the Army of Flames. A conflict which turned brother against brother and killed thousands. Those under the queen’s demonic influence were transformed into ghastly beings of pure evil. However the forces of good were not about to be vanquished so easily. In their darkest hour, a celestial being was summoned – a girl with skin the color of sand, and hair of the darkest earth. Together their might and magic defeated the Hellfire Queen and her horde.

Unfortunately the damage had been done. Countless months of non-stop fighting eventually reduced the kingdom of Iron Grove to ruins. It would be almost a year before the Hellfire queen was finally brought to heel. Even though the Crown of Vengeance was separated from Astara's head, the pact she made with the demon rendered her broken, but still immortal. A conventional execution would not work as the queen would still retained her immense power. It was only a matter of time before she would be back to full strength and ready to bring forth destruction anew. For her crimes against humanity, Queen Astara was placed in a large metal coffin and molten lead was poured into it, immuring and burning her alive. The generals who continued to swear allegiance to her likewise, met the same fate. A magical seal was placed over her cast to ensure that she would remain there for all eternity.

After her execution, the leaders of the resistance were uncertain of what to do with the Crown of Vengeance. Many attempted to destroy the cursed object, but its elemental composition and perhaps otherworldly nature, meant that this was ultimately an impossible task. In the end the council agreed that one family amongst the generals who fought in the battle would serve as the protectors of the crown, and ensure that its powers would never be used for evil. That honor went to Cornelia, whose bravery and valor ended the conflict before many more lives were lost. Lady Cornelia would remain as the sacred keeper of the crown until her death thirty years later at the age of 55. Initially it was suggested that the crown was to be entombed with her, but her family was against it; fearing that if grave robbers were to one day make off with it, the crown’s evil would once again engulf the country in war. In the end it was placed in the care of her daughter, Egelina Louderin. From that point on the Crown of Vengeance would be passed down from matriarch to matriarch of the Louderin clan, with each generation warning the next of its unforeseen powers. For safety, it was a locked away in a metal puzzle box which was deemed unsolvable to prevent anyone from falling victim to its influence. The last known official keeper of the crown was Mrs. Harriet Loud. For reasons unknown, it was not passed down to any of her daughters. Its legacy would not end there however, as it would soon be rediscovered by the latest decedents of their family, with terrifying consequences.

That said, the true power of the Crown of Vengeance has yet to be fully documented. However from first hand encounters and testimonials of the Omega Violet incident, we can deduce the following:

First stage – Upon dawning the crown, feelings of euphoria flows through the wearer. During this stage the crown’s influence is at is weakest and can easily be removed if he/she so chooses. However the state of elation the individual goes through means that this rarely happens. As time goes on the victim will start to become addicted to the sensations derived from the crown without actually knowing where its origin.

Second stage – The crown’s effect starts to bring out dormant traits within the wearer. Shy and introverted individuals will start to act bold and charismatic, conservative individuals will start to display actions of salaciousness, and extroverts will craze to be the center of attention. A supernatural charm is exuded from the victim, designed to control and enslave the weak-minded into doing his/her bidding.

Third stage – As the crown’s influence continues to work its way thru the victim’s psyche, he/she will start to lose sense of normal rationality. Depending on the individual, he/she will display acts of aggression, lust, and depravity (or all of the above). Minor physical mutations will start to manifest in the form of darkened irises, paling of skin, and slight deepening of voice.

Fourth stage – Once the crown has fully corrupted the wearers mind and soul, it will proceed to corrupt the body. At this stage, a full blown demonic mutation occurs; resulting in sharpened teeth, blackened and malformed limbs ending in serrated claws, and the formation of wings and a tail akin to a prototypical demon. Other supernatural changes include as drastically altering the user’s current attire, and an increase to their physique (in the case of the Omega Violet incident, the victim’s displayed noticeable growth in height, bust, and hips). The only way to stop a person in this current form is to separate the crown from his/her head, a feat easier said than done.

On [DATE REDACTED], the puzzle box housing the crown was discovered by Lucy Loud, the fourth youngest daughter of Lynn Loud Sr. and Rita Loud, in an old family chest amongst other memorabilia. When interviewed, Lucy mentioned that she dabbled with the puzzle box for a while and was ‘instinctively’ able to solve it in less than an hour. Upon holding the crown, she claims that she felt a strange presence emanating from it, and was tempted to put it on. For better or for worse, her attempt was interrupted by her parent's call for dinner. During that brief intermission, she stashed it away in a box in her bedroom drawer.

During that period, the crown would change hands to the third oldest daughter of the family, Luna Loud, who claimed she heard a voice calling out to her from her sister’s room. She would then adorn the crown to match the outfit intended for her high school’s annual prom that night. Luna didn’t think too much about the ominous feeling she got from it as she was no stranger to the weird and disturbing items her younger sister tends to hoard. But little did she know that this would be the beginning of many more troubles to come.

I know I'm awfully late to the Demon Luna party, but no time like the present eh? This is what happens when an idea gets stuck in writing hell for months. Despite the fact that I already had a draft and half a story up and running, I was feeling extremely uninspired to complete it. But thankfully April was a good time to churn out all the other ideas I had stockpiled, and gave me the much needed boost to finally complete this story. Special mention to LibraryWizard for assisting me with the story setting!

Just an FYI, this particular story takes place during the events of the Neu House series, unlike the other reports that take place before the start of it. I'll probably do more one-off stories like these in the future, with or without the involvement of the other UNITE characters.

Stay tuned for the part 2 which will be uploaded sometime next week! I think you all know whats going to happen.

[EDIT] Just a bit of a forewarning: part 2 will have Sam and Luna shipping elements. Just to let you know in case that particular pairing is not your thing.
