Boggart Birth Rite

A proud Boggart hoists another fresh born into the air for inspection, as a broad grin of satisfaction cracks wide across her face.

I wanted to make this a busy piece with lots going on, but keep it readable. I dropped the background right back by using going desaturated, mid value, and low contrast, with a very limited palette. In contrast the foreground is more saturated with a broad palette. The range of colours helps pick out the different characters, but tends to stick within the blue-green-yellow spectrum. Finally the little fella is picked out more sharply with the fleshy pink hues.

Lorwyn has just been released, and this was one of my first contributions to the set, I look forward to showing you the others shortly.
