It’s weird the things that break you out of nasty art block. For me it’s this Rayman OC I’ve barely thought about for years. But she turned out right purdy and I’m happy to finally have the inspiration to make something for me.

Marchessa is my only cat-fairy OC, a vampire who lives in a haunted mansion with fellow ghosts and monsters. She used to be betrothed to a handsome duke completely unaware that he was a vampire. For months he would sneak to her room in the dead of night to suck her blood, until one night he got careless and was caught by Marchessa’s maid. The duke was driven from the house and killed in the forest, much to the dismay of Marchessa (who despite the whole stealing her blood thing still thought the was really hot and wanted to marry him). The horror of her fiancé’s death unlocked Marchessa’s own vampiric abilities she’d gained from her vampire lover and to avoid the angry mob she fled into the night.

Despite her rough backstory Marchessa is actually pretty happy being a vampire. Flawless skin, teleportation abilities, immortality, and the general aura of coolness which people fear and respect works for a girl with a big ego and grand desires. However Marchessa is anything but cruel. In fact she cares deeply about her friends and invites them willingly into her lavish world. She also doesn’t steal blood, she survives on animal blood for the most part supplemented with any kind donations from the willing (and weirdly some people are VERY willing to earn her favour )

so yeah, vampire OC’s are fun ^_^
