Mortal Kubo! by Ready2Create on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

My final Mortal Kombat art!

Sariatu: She's Kitana because both of them are immortal warrior women with lousy fathers (both step and biological)
Hanzo: Scorpion, because WHY NOT?
Kubo: I know it sounds ironic that he's Raiden, since the whole premise of the movie was to avoid just that (becoming like Moon King Raiden). But there's a method to this madness. For being such a bad movie, "Mortal Kombat Annihilation" has a line that sums up Kubo's character in a nutshell: "It is not weak to value life!!" If anything, that particular Raiden had more in common with Kubo than the guy he shares a name with.

Commentary:
I liked highlighting Kubo in the lightning's light
Also, it feels strange drawing Kubo's family in such an intense light, but that's not a bad thing. Sometimes, anger is a part of drawing characters, because it reflects their capacity to oppose the evils of the world.

Enjoy!
