Description

This painting has evolved, originally the face was much smaller.
I decided to explore the process further and build a larger image (loosely based upon myself) taking over the original image. The work was painted in encaustic, building up a three dimensional linework, through a repeated process of painting, fusing the layers and scraping away.
I left traces of the original work in the journey to its finished state.

What is the bit of blue and the oval just under the blue??
How do you make some of it three-dimensional?
Do the lines coming out of his ears mean anything?
