..what, you honestly expected me /not/ to draw hair-down Neddie at least once?
Ffffffff idk, most people say it doesn't make him look like NL anymore, but I disagree, I rather like him with the hair down takes away from the badass image, but still.. I approve, haha.
I did this at the same time as the Li&Po chibis btw. So if the colour scheme looks familiar.. that's why. XD
the chibi-overkill is making my drawings so lazy.. haha orz
And omg I didn't take the easy way out with the title : o I'M SO GOOD OH HELLS YEAH.
Also: NIJNTJE! ♥ Haha, I still have a Nijn plushie lying around somewhere from when I was little..
(.. for the non-Dutch folks: Nijntje = Miffy. But Nijntje sounds so much better. xD)
Character belongs to Hidekaz Himaruya, creator of Hetalia; Nijntje belongs to Dick Bruna; drawing is mine.
Random trivia:
-the background is in our traditional painting style which is named Delfts blauw ('blue from Delft'). It's a very popular style, nowadays used in things like tea sets, plates, etc. :3 Back in ye olde times it was used for pottery mostly. nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delfts_b…
-this style is also used for 'wijsheidstegels' or 'wisdomtiles'; they're small tiles which are usually used in bathrooms or the likes, painted in Delfts blauw-stijl, with a random saying of wisdom (or lulz, nowadays it's mostly lulz) in the center. They're like what I used as a background; the text reads 'Niets zo charmant als een spreuk aan de wand', which is Dutch for 'nothing charms as much as a quote on the wall' (but it rhymes in dutch). www.google.com/images?q=delfts…
-Nijntje (or Miffy for non-NL or Belgium people) is a children's book character. In a way, I guess it's unthinkable for a Dutch kid to grow up not knowing the Nijntje series.. XD (or is that just my generation? Younger folks, please correct me if I'm wrong ; p) www.google.com/images?um=1&hl=…
-Tulipsss! The title means 'tulips from Amsterdam' but I guess you could've made that out even when you don't know the language. It's the title of an old song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=85U-77…
..k I'm done being an annoying dutchfan now
