Description

One of my favorite Indian railway engines (alongside the YPs and "Fairy Queen") is the class X 0-8-2 rack tank engine. These locomotives are powerful, brutish 0-8-2ts with four cylinders, two for the main driving wheels, and two above for the rack-and-pinion cogwheels between the frames. These beastly locomotives pushed trains up the steep Nigrili Mountain Railway flawlessly, and are just one of the many marvelous classes of steam locomotive operating in India.

They're excellent hikers.
