Savageish primate units by Rodrigo-Vega on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

If you remember this deviantion: [link] it was pretty, bad, it's between the old ones, I designed some sort 'Savage: The Battle for Newearth'. So, well, I made nine out of each category of creatures I made back then. This are the primate units, being the latest to evolve on real life from the creatures on the list, they are in-game the weakest and most "primitive" units of the beasts.

  1. Orangoten Shaman: The caster of race, It's a pretty primitive caster, mostly if not purely based on buffs and debuffs. Basic stuff, some "primal rage" or something as a buff; I would make some crazy monkey cry and all monkey would go ape... you know how mokeys get in those ocations. Then some kind of taunt and ... I don't know, make your own debuff, thats not my job.

  2. Kongor: In honor of Savage's kongor, wouln't you love having it as a playable unit?, well my version is kinda smaller and with osteoderms on its shoulders. It would do for a Siege unit smashing and trowing rocks, yet being pretty fast and agile.

  3. Flying gibbun: Like a hairless Gibbon with patagium to glide with for short distances. The "aerail" unit of the apes carries only one spear, but being larger than a human, while swinging and gliding at high speeds thats ,more than enough for an efficient kill, it is hard to hit with primitive humans weapons and can quickly return to its base to reload ammunition. Exelent base defenders, but really poor at melee and awkward for long distance operations.

  4. Spiked baboon: Something like a rougue, high attack, low HP, and can throw its babies at the enemie's face and call them back when the scratching its done, like regular rougues do.

  5. Monkey doctor: Can use human items and weapons, of course there's always the possibility of items and weapons exploding on their hands, shooting their own faces, or in the best of cases just using a rocket launcher as a club. It can be very useful for a match in which the human team is most advanced than the beast's moving that advantage to the beast's side. A high level monkey doctor can use a human weapon with good efficiency while at the same time being stronger and faster that any normal human.

  6. Chimpekcy warrior: The frontline soldier of the primate beasts. It's a very straight foreward unit to use, just pick it, and go bananas while running, jumping and swinging all the while while swinging your club to smash some skulls.

  7. Raging tamarann: This unit is free to use and can be played by the commander as a drone, that means, it can be controled by him, but without any player "inside" and has no respawn delay. All this advantages are because this is a swarming unit, it is supposed to be used in large numbers and be killed quikly without almost any cost for the team that uses them, great for guerrilla tactics, making the enemy lose time, etc. The unit is some kind of tamarin tha jumps at your face and or bites your fingers of, things like that.

  8. Lemur trapper: A unit ideal for nocturnal operations, it can crawl and move silently through the trees and snare, stabb or whatever to any unlucky human passerby.

  9. Monkit: Another unit based on a Savage NPC, resurected as a played controled unit. The rangers of the primates, they can hide in the trees and throw their deadly darts from behind the leafs of the jungle. Darts can be upgraded to envenomed darts and stuff like that.
