Description
When I was in 9th grade, I started biting my fingernails. It was easy to relate it to the hard times that I had at school, since I found myself stopping whenever I was on holiday, and going right back to damaging my own hands as soon as school started again. I felt so lonely at times, wanting nothing more than to have a best friend by my side.
By the time the school year had finished, I had already decided to move schools. And when September brought along a fresh start at a new school, suddenly my life began to fall into place. I found new friends, didn’t loathe going to school anymore. Finally, I was okay — and yet eight years later I still find myself tearing the skin on my fingers today, sometimes to the point where it hurts to do anything with my hands.
