Ok.. usually i don't do impressionism. It's a style that does not lend its self to manga style very well.
While manga features a lot of lines and tone density...lots of cross hatching out lining, toning, ect. So its very hard to translate that into impressionism.
Now the lady that did sailor moon did a REALLY good job with this with her watercolors.
Also for inuyasha manga and the mermaids saga manga.
I learned that in many of these cases what they used was a brand called "Peerless Watercolors".
Unfortunately these things are hard as hell to get hold of.
FORTUNATELY.. i have at least one relative that's not a total weeboo. My fathers sister is probably the only extended relative in the family that not only understands my love of art. But encourages it..
So guess what came in the mail for my birthday from her?
hehe

So here is my first attempt at impressionistic manga coloring with peerless watercolors.
here is my OC rose done in portrait style.
