Gobekli Tepe was discovered in southern Turkey a few years ago by a farmer tending his sheep. He found a stone and started digging. It is reputed to be 12,000 years old. Much older than the pyramids and had been buried to preserve the site. There are many beautiful carvings of animals that are recognisable today.

I truly fascinating place. Maybe some of you will be interested to look a little further?
