Empress of Elements

The Sorceress Maya from the Aranya Tribe nestled in the foothills of the Nilgiri Mountains of India, was a strong-willed young woman who could control the elements. The earth uttered age-old knowledge, the river spoke of its limitless depths, the fire of purity, and the wind whispered secrets in her ear. Maya was aware that her destiny rested in taming these elemental elements so she might harness their power and restore harmony to the universe.

Each day that passed by made Maya more aware of her connection to the environment. In order to communicate with the spirits that lived inside the natural world, she sought isolation deep within the forest. Her senses became more acute and tuned in as she meditated among the gnarled old trees.

She put her palms down on the ground and felt the earth's flowing life power. She dipped her toes into the cool river and merged her soul with the waters. And when night fell, she watched the flames of the bonfires dance, enthralled by the vivid orange and blue hues.

Maya was communing with the elements one fateful evening when she sensed an imbalance. In the distance, thunder could be heard rumbling menacingly as a fierce storm began to brew. Maya stood erect in the middle of the storm, braving the howling winds and downpours with unyielding resolve.

She closed her eyes and used her strong ties to the elements to try to calm the tempest. She invited the wind to envelop her by extending her arms with her palms facing the sky. The winds seemed to be supporting her cause as they swirled about her. She merged with the wind at that precise instant, replicating its elegant dance.

Maya guided the winds with a wave of her hand, causing them to scatter the storm clouds. Raindrops fell lightly as though they were thanking the heavens for their newfound tranquillity. The storm had been calmed by Maya's control over the wind, reestablishing equilibrium in the natural order.
