Another birthday card design. This picture actually has a bit of a backstory which made me a little sad while drawing it. May in Finland was very cold and harsh this year. A hedgehog wandered onto our yard in search of food and I fed him a couple of times since he was walking around outside the house. One Monday morning he had fallen asleep onto the lawn out front. I built him an emergency nest and put him into a more sheltered place so he would stay warm and dry. For two weeks I checked up on him, tried to warm him up with a heating bottle and even called a vet and asked what I can do. One morning it seemed like he had died but he became responsive again during the day. But the next morning the same thing happened again...and well...that was it.
Took him to the back yard and buried him under some leaves because I still wasn't 100% sure if he was just in deep hibernation. But when I went to check his 'grave' after a week, he was still there. Ironically, the weather warmed up after a week of his death. If only he could've waited a bit longer.
