The Neon Mona by ScottMeade on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

My poster design takes inspiration from one of the most renowned portraits in history – Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa." However, this is not a mere replication. Instead, it is a modern reinterpretation that melds the classic with the contemporary. The enigmatic expression that has puzzled and captivated viewers for centuries is brought to life with a vibrant palette of neon hues, a nod to the aesthetics of blacklight posters.

This reinterpretation does not just stop at color. It goes a step further, employing a unique blend of traditional and modern techniques. The exquisite details from the original work – the soft folds of the clothing, the intricate hair strands, the serene landscape in the background – are recreated with meticulous attention. Yet, they are juxtaposed with abstract elements that lend a distinct contemporary edge to the design. The result? A 'Mona Lisa' for the 21st century.
